AED Donor Program

Ensuring Access to AEDs

Andrew’s Assist provides funds to support the installation of Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) in schools, community organizations, parks, recreational facilities and youth sports organizations.

AEDs are a critical part of the Cardiac Chain of Survival and the only way to restart the heart of someone in sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).  AEDs automatically identify, diagnose and respond to life-threatening heart rhythms.

An AED will not shock someone if the heart rhythm is not life-threatening, so the user cannot inadvertently hurt the victim.  AEDs guide its user through the rescue process with simple audible and visual prompts.  Users DO NOT need to be trained or certified to use the device.  Research shows that people as young as age 11 can properly use one after receiving verbal instructions.

Placing AEDs in as many locations as possible, together we can make the save!
